About the role

Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:

As the Director, Planning - EMEA, you set the planning strategy that connects regional performance to Arc'teryx's broader growth and profitability objectives. You own the planning framework across B2B, Retail and eCommerce, from long-range financial targets through to inventory and merchandise planning, and you lead the cross-functional decision-making that keeps Merchandising, Channel Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and Digital aligned. This is a role with real strategic weight: you'll shape how the region plans, build the team and processes that execute against that vision, and drive the planning maturity needed to support the regional business. You'll operate at the intersection of executive strategy and planning execution, influencing decisions through rigorous data and strategic planning expertise. If you're energized by building high-performing organizations and raising the bar on how planning gets done, this role offers the scope and visibility to make that happen.

Meet Your Future Team:

The Director Planning - EMEA team translates business priorities into integrated plans across the channels, incorporating local demand signals, channel strategies, and market context. The team positions inventory effectively by channel, supports replenishment and inventory flow decisions, and drives aligned decisions that support growth, profitability, and customer experience across Demand Planning, Merchandise Planning, and Inventory.

If you were in the Director, Planning - EMEA role now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Owning the planning strategy for B2B, Retail and eCommerce: setting annual, seasonal, and long-range plans that align inventory, sales, margin, and productivity targets to regional and company objectives
  • Leading enterprise cross-functional planning decisions across Merchandising, Channel Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and Digital, translating executive goals into actionable strategies the business can execute against
  • Leading cross-channel prioritization and investment decisions, balancing DTC and Wholesale objectives to maximize enterprise value
  • Establishing regional inventory investment strategies and governance frameworks that optimize inventory productivity across channels while balancing service, growth and profitability objectives
  • Owning the Integrated Business Planning operating model (IBP), including planning cadence, governance, and executive decision forums, ensuring disciplined alignment across demand, supply, and financial planning
  • Establishing and monitoring planning performance metrics, ensuring accountability for forecast quality, inventory productivity, margin performance, and service levels.
  • Driving adoption and optimization of advanced planning capabilities across the regional planning function, including automation and exception-based planning approaches
  • Anticipating business risks across the planning horizon and developing proactive mitigation plans that protect growth and profitability
  • Building and developing a high-performing regional planning organization spanning Merchandise Planning, Demand Planning, and Omni-inventory Planning

Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:

  • Leading planning process transformation and maturity initiatives that raise the standard of how the region plans and make the function more scalable
  • Advancing planning capabilities across the regional planning function to improve decision quality, agility, and scalability
  • Developing future planning leaders across the organization, building bench strength and coaching managers through increasingly complex challenges

Are you our next Director, Planning - EMEA?

  • You have a bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field (master's degree preferred)
  • You have 10+ years of experience in Retail Planning, Merchandise Planning, Inventory Planning, or Allocation, with demonstrated expertise in leading large-scale cross-channel planning functions
  • You have deep expertise across Merchandise Financial Planning (MFP), Open-to-Buy (OTB), Demand Planning, and Inventory Planning
  • You have strong financial acumen, with a solid understanding of revenue planning, gross margin management, working capital, and inventory productivity
  • You have advanced analytical and strategic planning capabilities
  • You have experience with advanced planning tools such as o9, Blue Yonder, Anaplan, Oracle (preferred)
  • You are comfortable driving tool adoption and optimization across a planning organization
  • You have experience influencing executive stakeholders and presenting strategies, risks, and recommendations to senior audiences with clarity and confidence
  • You have demonstrated experience leading, coaching and developing high-performing teams, with the ability to set clear direction towards shaping, evolving and achieving a comprehensive, long-term strategic vision that amplifies operational excellence on a global scale
