Your main tasks
- Responsible for sales and/or sales support of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) media rights portfolio across selected territories, including the management of existing broadcast partners and development of new commercial opportunity
- Support the overall management of BWF properties, working closely with relevant Infront departments to ensure the property is delivered to the highest standard across sales, rights delivery, media operations, technology, production, digital, sponsorship, marketing and client servicing
- Coordinate with the Global Media Sales Team to support the creation and implementation of BWF sales strategies, including market-by-market planning, commercial positioning, pricing recommendations and broadcaster engagement
- Support or lead, as required, the management of key client relationships, including client servicing, contracting, fulfilment of contracted rights, rights delivery, operational coordination and further development of long-term broadcaster partnerships
- Manage and support the commercialization of broadcast sponsorship opportunities with BWF broadcast clients, ensuring all activations, proposals and deliverables are aligned with BWF guidelines, rights parameters and approval processes
- Support the Director of Media Rights in developing and implementing strategic plans for BWF dark markets, with the objective of identifying future growth opportunities, new distribution models and long-term revenue potential
- Explore and develop new ways to commercialise the BWF property beyond traditional broadcast rights sales, including digital distribution, social content, highlights, FAST channels, betting data/audio-visual opportunities, branded content, sponsorship integration and other emerging media models
- Support the development and implementation of annual budgets, revenue forecasts and strategic planning for BWF media projects in coordination with relevant internal stakeholders and the Infront Media Sales team
- Prepare regular reporting for BWF and internal stakeholders, including sales updates, market feedback, broadcaster performance, rights delivery status, commercial opportunities, dark market development and key risks
- Conduct market research across relevant territories, including broadcaster landscape analysis, competitor monitoring, benchmark studies, pricing assessment and identification of emerging platforms or alternative buyers
- Support media-related rights-in activities, including regular reporting, client management, event servicing, onsite presence where required and ensuring seamless delivery of BWF events to broadcast partners
- Contribute knowledge, experience and market insights to the continued development of the Media, Betting & Technology Team, including proposing improvements to processes, sales materials, commercial models and client servicing approaches
- Support the further growth of Infront’s portfolio by contributing to pitches for new rights, responses to tenders and business development initiatives in close coordination with relevant rights-in and business development teams
Your profile
- 3-6 years of experience in a similar function or related fields
- Degree preferred but not mandatory; professional education with additional qualifications also considered
- Analysis of new problems, assessment of technical information and other sources, development of new solutions
- Strong understanding of the global sports industry, with specific relevance to badminton, including media rights, broadcast partnerships, sponsorship commercialisation, rights delivery, stakeholder management and event servicing
- Demonstrable knowledge of the badminton media landscape in selected territories, including broadcasters, digital platforms, agencies, national associations, confederations and other key stakeholders within the badminton ecosystem
- Good understanding of the BWF property portfolio, including Major Events, the World Tour, World Tour Finals and other BWF-sanctioned events, as well as the commercial value and broadcast appeal of these properties
- Familiarity with drafting, reviewing and navigating media rights contracts, including badminton-specific rights packages, broadcast obligations, territorial rights, digital rights, sponsorship restrictions, approval processes and rights delivery requirements
- Proven working relationships and an established network across broadcasters, agencies, rights holders, sponsors, sports governing bodies and/or badminton stakeholders would be highly advantageous
- Experience in supporting or delivering international sporting events from a media standpoint, preferably badminton events, including broadcaster servicing, onsite coordination, rights delivery, production support and stakeholder communication
- Understanding the international badminton landscape, including the BWF ecosystem, major events, leading athletes, member associations, commercial partners, fan engagement trends and market dynamics, would be a strong plus
- Previous experience with a broadcaster, rights holder, agency, federation, national association or sports organisation involved in badminton or Olympic sports would be preferred
- Ability to analyse badminton market trends, conduct territory-specific benchmark studies, identify new commercial opportunities and support the development of growth strategies across established, developing and dark markets
- Strong communication, coordination and relationship management skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal departments, BWF, broadcasters, agencies, sponsors and other badminton stakeholders
- Strong attitude towards quality, excellence in delivery and ‘client-first’ thinking
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent time management and capacity to handle multiple concurrent projects and responsibilities
