As we continue to grow across regulated markets, having a scalable and effective approach to Customer Due Diligence is critical to protecting our customers, our licences and our business.
We're looking for an experienced Head of Customer Due Diligence (CDD) to lead our global CDD operation, bringing together KYC, Enhanced Due Diligence and ongoing monitoring into one high-performing function.
This is a senior operational leadership role with the opportunity to shape how DAZN Bet manages customer risk across its licensed markets while building the processes, technology and teams needed to support our future growth.
The Role
As Head of Customer Due Diligence , you'll have operational ownership of DAZN Bet's CDD function across all licensed markets, covering KYC, Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), Source of Funds/Source of Wealth and ongoing customer monitoring .
Reporting to the Director of Operations , you'll lead a geographically distributed team and be responsible for ensuring due diligence activity is delivered accurately, efficiently and within agreed service levels.
Operating as a first-line function , you'll work closely with the Head of AML & MLRO, Safer Gambling, Payments, Compliance, Legal and Product teams to ensure DAZN Bet maintains a joined-up approach to customer risk and financial crime prevention.
You'll also lead the continued harmonisation and development of our CDD operation, using technology, automation and AI to improve efficiency, consistency and scalability as DAZN Bet enters new markets.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead the end-to-end CDD operation across DAZN Bet's licensed markets , ensuring KYC, EDD, Source of Funds/Wealth and ongoing monitoring activity is completed accurately and within agreed SLAs.
- Lead and develop a geographically distributed CDD team, creating a high-performance culture focused on quality, accountability, customer experience and continuous improvement.
- Drive the harmonisation of KYC and CDD/EDD operations into a consistent global framework, identifying opportunities to simplify processes and improve decision-making.
- Ensure all CDD activity meets applicable AML legislation, licence conditions, internal policies and DAZN Bet's risk appetite across each regulated market.
- Own CDD Management Information and performance reporting, providing clear visibility of volumes, SLA performance, quality, capacity and emerging customer risk trends.
- Partner with Product and Technology teams to develop CDD tooling and introduce automation and Artificial Intelligence that improves operational efficiency, accuracy and scalability.
- Ensure the CDD operating model, processes and resources are capable of supporting DAZN Bet's expansion into new markets, contributing to regulatory and operational readiness ahead of launch.
- Work closely with AML, Safer Gambling, Payments, Compliance and Legal teams, representing CDD within governance forums and supporting regulatory queries and reviews.
- Manage CDD technology and third-party vendor relationships, ensuring service levels, capabilities and tooling continue to meet DAZN Bet's operational and regulatory requirements.
What You’ll Bring:
- Significant experience in a senior CDD, KYC, EDD or AML Operations leadership role within online betting and gaming, financial services or another highly regulated environment.
- Strong knowledge of CDD, KYC, EDD, Source of Funds/Wealth and ongoing monitoring frameworks, with experience applying these requirements operationally.
- Good understanding of AML legislation and regulatory expectations across multiple regulated markets, ideally including the UK, Ireland, Canada and European jurisdictions .
- Proven experience leading and developing geographically distributed operational teams, ideally managing teams of 8+ within a high-volume environment.
- Experience operating within a Three Lines of Defence model , with a strong understanding of the responsibilities and relationship between first and second-line functions.
- Strong operational management capability, including MI reporting, SLA management, capacity planning, quality assurance and performance management.
- A track record of delivering operational transformation, including process harmonisation, automation, technology improvements and scalable operating models.
- Experience managing CDD/KYC technology and third-party vendors, with confidence using Artificial Intelligence and data to improve operational and analytical performance.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders, work with regulators and lead teams successfully through change.
