About the role

Who We Are

We are Two Circles. We are a Sports & Entertainment Marketing business. We grow audiences and revenues by knowing fans best.

We work with clients to help them understand and influence fan behaviour — how fans spend their money, the events they attend, the channels they respond to, and the content they engage with. We use this understanding to help our clients grow both direct-to-consumer and business-to-business revenues.

Our platforms and services are trusted by over 1,000 clients globally, including the English Premier League, Red Bull, UEFA, VISA, the NFL, Nike and Amazon. We are over 1,000 people, based across 15 offices worldwide, delivering work for sports and entertainment organisations of all shapes and sizes.

India is a long-term commitment for Two Circles. We're already trusted by the BCCI, one of the biggest and most important properties in world sport, and our Hyderabad office sits at the heart of that relationship. Being here, and succeeding here, is central to how we build a better future for the sports and entertainment industry globally.

Hyderabad is a Two Circles office, not a GCC. Today it's tech-centric, but our ambition is to diversify what we build here over time, growing into a broad Two Circles presence rather than staying confined to technology propositions.

What you will do

We’re looking for an Engineering Director to lead our Hyderabad delivery organisation. You’ll lead a team of around 50 engineers, QA and delivery specialists, and the team is still growing. They work across our Data and Digital Products & CRM practices and deliver for clients and colleagues around the world.

You’ll report to our APAC Managing Director, with a dotted line to our Engineering Directors for Data and for Digital Products & CRM. As the most senior Two Circles leader in our Hyderabad office, you’ll also play an important role in our work with the BCCI, our most important partner in India. The role is based in Hyderabad.

This is a leadership role first and foremost. You’ll build and run a high-performing team and set the tone for its culture. You’ll bring discipline and predictability to how we deliver and make the India team’s performance visible to the rest of the business.

You’ll bring enough fluency in engineering and software delivery to earn the respect of our team, understanding trade-offs, spotting risk, and knowing when and how deep to go. You’ll govern quality and standards within the technical direction set by our global Engineering Directors and ensure excellence in the process for how we deliver software. You won’t be expected to set that direction yourself, but you will be expected to make sure it’s executed brilliantly in India.

We want Hyderabad to be known, by 2029, not just for delivering the work, but for shaping it, owning it, and making it better. That means more ownership of outcomes, greater exposure to our clients and their problems, more leaders and careers built from within Hyderabad, and a reputation for ideas, innovation and smart use of AI, all while protecting the spirit and connection that makes Two Circles what it is as we grow. You'll be the person most accountable for getting us there.

Key responsibilities

Leading the team and its culture

  • Lead, grow and retain the India team, including recruitment, onboarding and development of new team members.
  • Co-own the culture of our Hyderabad office with our HR Lead. You’ll treat culture as a core part of your job, not something handed off to the HR team. You will be the role model of Two Circles spirit in the office.
  • Build an India leadership layer of Engineering Managers, QA leadership and delivery leadership. Embed progression frameworks, career pathways and regular, structured feedback.
  • Be a visible, accessible leader in the office. Build strong relationships and encourage the face-to-face collaboration that builds trust and improves delivery.

Delivery and engineering excellence

  • Own the software delivery lifecycle across India projects, with consistent processes that drive quality and predictability.
  • Oversee QA and release management standards across India builds, aligned with our global standards.
  • Stay close to the work: attend key governance forums, review delivery health weekly, and step in when projects need support.
  • Work with our Tech Leads to ensure technical standards and architectural approaches are followed, in line with the direction set by our Engineering Directors for Data and Digital Products & CRM.
  • Embed the agentic engineering practices being rolled out across our global teams. Drive adoption in India and share what you learn.
  • Help the India team take increasing ownership of outcomes end-to-end, including design, not just execution, and reduce reliance on other regions to unblock problems.

Performance, metrics and governance

  • Create and run a monthly governance process and health report for the India team. It should cover hiring, onboarding, attrition, utilisation, quality and performance, and progress on major initiatives.
  • Own delivery, quality and team health metrics, including code quality, production defects and time to resolve issues. Track how the project leaders the India team works with in other regions rate its work.
  • Own utilisation and cost efficiency across India delivery. Propose the India hiring plan and work with Delivery Directors globally on resource planning and hotspots.

Global collaboration

  • Give leadership upward visibility, and give teams clarity on priorities, outcomes and decisions.
  • Work with Directors in Melbourne, London and Vancouver to develop operating models that let teams work smoothly across regions.
  • Work effectively across time zones and cultures, bringing structure and clarity to complex, global work.
  • Help Hyderabad become a knowledge hub, not just a delivery team: bring in what's working well from London, Melbourne and Vancouver, and feed Hyderabad's own innovations back out to the rest of the business.

What success looks like in your first year

  • A high-performing team, shown in hard metrics such as code quality, production defects and time to resolve issues and in strong feedback from the project leaders the team works with across regions.
  • A strong culture in our Hyderabad office, measured against our regular pulse checks.
  • Our agentic engineering practices widely adopted across the India team.
  • A clear monthly view of the India team’s health, shared with the wider business through a regular governance process.
  • An India leadership layer in place that can support continued growth.

Requirements

  • 15+ years’ experience, including senior leadership of an organisation of 50+ people across engineering, QA and delivery, and experience managing managers.
  • Direct leadership of engineering and QA teams, ideally having started your career as an engineer. You can contribute credibly to architecture and code-quality discussions across both data engineering and digital product engineering.
  • Senior client-facing experience in a services, agency or consultancy business.
  • Experience working within a multi-region or global delivery model.
  • Hands-on ownership of the software delivery lifecycle, delivery processes, resourcing and talent management.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and resilience, and the ability to influence senior peers and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead and inspire teams and engage a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • An interest in AI-enabled development practices and the drive to lead their adoption.
  • Eligibility to work in India.
  • Able to travel regularly to Vancouver, London and Melbourne.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with the platforms we build on (CMS, identity, video, CRM and e-commerce) and modern cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with sports and entertainment.
  • Experience building or leading a Global Capability Centre or an India-based global delivery hub.
  • Experience in both startup-style and enterprise-scale environments.
