About the role
We are seeking an experienced Retail District Manager to lead and drive retail excellence across VIC stores. This is a great opportunity to join a global brand and be a key contributor to retail's growth and momentum in Pacific.
The District Manager is responsible for the commercial performance and operational execution of stores across the district. The role leads and develops Store Managers, drives sales and profitability, supports consistent customer service, and ensures compliance with company policies, initiatives and brand standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Take full ownership of the district and its commercial success.
- Analyse relevant data to probe and challenge the status quo with both Retail Back Office partners and Store Managers.
- Coach Store Managers to grow leadership benchstrength, engagement and store performance.
- Ensure the legal and financial integrity of the district’s store portfolio.
- Drive a service and selling culture, leading with a consumer obsessed mindset.
- Spend focused time on the sales floor during store visits to determine service improvement opportunities and to coach the Store Team.
- Be a Brand Ambassador, consistently exhibiting the Brand Attitude and Values.
- Ensure brand aligned execution of product and operations.
- Facilitate the effective and timely delivery and execution of Foundational and Seasonal Brand and product training materials in the stores.
- Plan and prioritize structured store visits to maximise the district’s performance.
- Assess and make recommendations to improve the commercial viability of store's product assortment.
- Manage loss prevention as well as health and safety risks.
- Lead and manage effective recruitment and on-boarding processes.
- Champion internal growth and succession planning.
- Ensure compliance to established brand, HR and Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Create a high performance culture through effective leadership of people, operations and commercial acumen.
- Share best practices to drive overall Market and Global retail performance.
- Complete all applicable training programs and effectively apply the learning on the job.

KNOWLEDGE, CAPABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE:
- Australian local retail market knowledge.
- Australian local HR and Retail Award knowledge.
- Coaching and mentoring leaders & store teams.
- Advanced numeracy, literacy and verbal communication skills.
- Minimum 18 months work experience in a sports/fashion customer- and commercial- focused retail environment with a minimum of 12 months of Multi-Store Management responsibility.
