Job Description

Williams Heritage is where the history of Atlassian Williams F1 Team is kept alive. The team restores and maintains legendary Formula 1 cars, some dating back nearly 50 years, using original parts and handwritten notes like those from 1977 and Mario Andretti’s green sheet from Las Vegas. With over 150 years of combined experience, the engineers and mechanics make sure these cars are race-ready for historic events and private ownership. It’s a place where engineering meets passion, and the past is brought back to life on and off the track.

As a Graduate Heritage Systems Engineer, you will support the operation, maintenance and modernisation of the electronic and control systems used on Williams Heritage Formula 1 cars. Working closely with the Heritage Systems team, you will help configure and support electronic systems spanning multiple generations of Formula 1 technology, analyse vehicle data, and contribute to reliability improvements that keep these historic cars running. You will also play a role in preserving and developing the engineering knowledge, software tools, and documentation that support the long-term operation of historic Williams F1 cars.

You will gain exposure to the full lifecycle of systems engineering, from workshop preparation and software development through to data analysis, vehicle diagnostics, and support at selected events.

  • Support the development and maintenance of software tools used across the Heritage Systems Group
  • Assist with ECU configuration, sensor calibration and vehicle data analysis
  • Contribute to the modernisation and documentation of legacy electronic systems and engineering tools
  • Work alongside the Senior Controls & Systems Engineer and Electronics Technicians to support car build, testing and selected events
